Fabulous Early Velvet Jacket for Teddy Bear or Lg Doll Start Price USD 125.00 Current Price USD 125.00 Time Left 25 days 1 hours 2 minutes Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Tuesday, November 04, 2008 End Time Monday, February 02, 2009 Location Boston, MA See more about 'Fabulous Early Velvet Jacket for Teddy Bear or Lg Doll' Description Fabulous Early Velvet Jacket for Teddy Bear or Large Doll This beautiful jacket is made with a dark velvet fabric with green velvet collar and cuffs.  The lining is a gorgeous bright yellow gold sateen fabric.  The collar is lined is a black silk.  The dark fabric looks brown in some lighting and a sort of a purple brown in daylight.  The green is almost a kelly green, but a little darker.  The neckline is wide, sleeves are short, the collar is deep.  There are 3 frog like designs with large round buttons.  The frogs are made of a black cord like material from the mid to late 1800s and I believe the jacket is from that era.  The yellow sateen is also from the same period.  The buttons are large brown balls and are ceramic or glass.  One of the balls is missing.  I do not know if this was originally made for a child or a large doll.  It is very unusual and I am sure this is a one of a kind. I have used a 28" teddy bear to model the jacket to show how cute it looks on a large bear and also so you can see how well it fits.  The bear is not for sale with this auction, just the jacket.  The bear that wears this is a very lucky bear.  It will look equally as nice on a large doll.  The jacket is 13 1/2" long.  Shoulder width seam to seam is 8 3/4".  Across the back under the sleeves measures 14 1/2" across.  The bottom about 28" around.  The armholes are about 13" around and the bottom of the sleeves are about 9" around.  There is a small button at the collar.  The neckline measures 17" around when buttoned and there is also an additional 3" overlap.  The collar is 3" deep. The contrasting colors of bright green with a dark color is difficult to photograph.  At the end I have shown the same picture, but one is very much lightened and will show more detail, but the green in that picture is almost faded out.  The second picture is darker, but the details do not show.             Ask about our layaway plan for more expensive purchases.
